Handcrafted by the artisans at Royal Crown Derby, the Shetland Pony has been designed using the ever-popular but traditional Old Imari pattern embellished in 22 carat gold to reflect all that is on show at Appleby in the county of Westmorland in Cumbria. The exclusive piece is individually numbered and showcases the delicate detail with a decorative harness and blanket taken from the original Falabella including arch fringing deconstructed from the original Old Imari pattern with its ruby rich Derby red and classic cobalt blue detail which represents the strength of the design and rider with fur combined with a patch texture and curls, surrounding the rosette flowers in the pattern lavishly decorated in gold to highlight the decoration and elements on the pony such as the hooves, mane, tail and edging of the design.
