Early Set 12 Royal Crown Derby Imari Kings #383 9 Luncheon Plates c. This listing features an early Set of 12 Royal Crown Derby Imari Kings pattern luncheon Plates. Pattern #383, Red, Blue & Gold Floral and Scrolls on Rim, Center Chrysanthemum Leaves and Flowers. In excellent condition with some wear to the painting in the central well and some wear to the gilt, as seen in the pictures. No nicks, dings, fleabites or chips. One plate has non-structural hairline showing on the back, otherwise no isssues. Measure approximately 8 3/4″ x 1″. Date stamps on backs from 1877 to 1890. Very difficult to find a complete set of 12. “Imari” patterns typically feature designs and colors based on porcelain pieces first produced during the Edo period (from 1603 to 1868) on the island of Kyushu, Japan.
