This is a lovely vintage Royal Crown Derby figure of a ballerina / dancer which stands 9 1/2 inches high, measures 3 inches across the circular base and it dates to around the 1930’s. This figure is called “Conquest” and it was designed by Miss M. Locke who was a figure modeller at the Osmaston Road factory in the nineteen twenties and thirties. Locke together with the year cypher which is slightly blurred but it appears to be for the year 1933. This ballerina / dancer figure is in a very striking pose and she is wearing a shaded blue costume and ballet shoes with a colourful bunch of flowers at her feet. There is great attention to detail on this figure from her pose to the hand painted facial features. The condition is good – there are no cracks, nicks, damage or repairs to be found and the colours are bright and crisp with no loss or scratches.
