The’Aves’ series of patterns was adapted from an embroidery pattern by painter Albert Gregory – featuring a range of birds of paradise and peacocks and has been consistently in the Royal Crown Derby range of active patterns since 1932. The cup and saucer both date to 1944 and the cake/side plate to 1984’VII’ and’XLVII’ respectively under the backstamp – see. The footed tea cup stands 6cm height, diameter 9cm. Saucer measures 14.5cm in diameter. The cake/side/bread & butter plate measures 15.9cm in diameter. In very good condition – no chips, cracks or crazing. All pieces’ping’ nicely when.
