Up for sale is a very rare Pudding Platter with matching server made in England by Royal Crown Derby in the Kedelson pattern. Footed plate measures 11 in diameter and is intended to serve steamed pudding. Can also be used as a cake plate or pie server. Puddings in Britain are not what most Americans think of puddings. We think of a soft custard like dessert (known as Blanc Mange in England). English puddings are steamed puddings either sweet like Plum Pudding or Christmas Pudding or savory like Steak and Kidney Puddings and the like. Whatever you want to serve on this it is an extremely hard to find piece. The stainless server can also be used as a pie or cake server. The code on the back of the platter dates it to 1990. These are both in new and unused condition – given as wedding gift and never used.
