Up for sale is a very unique three-piece tea set made by Royal Crown Derby of England. This set is part of their Quail line that was discontinued in 1997. It has a great game bird figural shape and elaborate decoration. Our listing includes a teapot, creamer, lidded sugar and they measure as follows. The sugar is approximately 4 5/8″ long by 3 3/8″ tall with the lid, the creamer is 7″ long and 4″ tall to the top of the handle, and the teapot is 8″ long and 5 1/4″ tall at the handle. All pieces are marked as shown with all but the sugar bowl lid having been scratched to indicate that the pieces may be seconds. In looking the pieces over we find no chips, cracks or crazing. Their decoration is mostly complete with both lids showing very little if any loss. The creamer is very nice with a small spot of gold loss under the breast, the teapot is also very nice with a factory skip at the base of the handle. It looks like no decoration was applied in this area. We find more wear on the base of the sugar bowl with a spot on the top of the head and the rest on its tail. There is a factory skip to the right at the bottom. Near the top left of the tail is a scratch. See all photos for more detail. Please see my listings for other unique items.
