This listing is for a truly superb Derby four seasons figure collection, circa 1790’s. Composed of the fine hard paste porcelain, Spring is depicted as a boy holding a floral garland (small petal losses); Summer carries a basket of grapes from a harvest; Autumn embraces a sheaf of wheat (minimal loss to wheat tip in her hand); and Winter is modeled as a boy carrying a bundle of sticks on his shoulder (loss to several tips). Accented with 22 karat gilt. All of these remarkable pieces feature a red, hand-painted factory crown mark, as pictured. An early and rare example of English porcelain, which, as a set, is generally only seen in museums. These figurines resonate with all the charm and character that Derby porcelain has become renowned for throughout the centuries. The hand-painted details remain vibrant and virtually unscathed by the passage of time. Each figure measures approximately 6.75″ to 7″H. Please reach out with any questions, or reasonable offers.
