They are made of fine, white bone china. The porcelain has molded accents and serpentine borders. They are decorated in Imari style colors of cobalt blue, rust red and gold. The design is elaborate with scrolls, fans and shells accenting the decoration. Wide portions of the plate are richly gilded, leaving cut outs of white porcelain decorated with urns of flowers.
