This is a Royal Crown Derby limited edition footed cup/vase from 1939, featuring 2 24K gold spread winged eagle handles and commemorating HM King George VI’s and HM Queen Elizabeth’s, “the first visit of British reigning sovereigns to these United States”. It is signed, dated 1939, and produced in the United Kingdom. Plummer and Company Limited of New York city. The cup/vase is part of a series of 3000, with this specific piece being number 171. The design is themed around British Royalty pictures on the front and the USA Eagle crest on the reverse. This is a collectible item for fans of historical memorabilia. Size: It is 4 3/4″ high and 6″ wide from beak to beak. The condition is immaculate and perfect except for a tiny chip on the end of the beak of one of the eagles. This is a beautiful commemorative cross by Royal Crown Derby, fine English bone china. The piece is titled’The True Vine Cross’. This was a special edition produced to mark the visit of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI to the United Kingdom in September 2010. This was the first time a Pope had made a state visit to the UK (John Paul’s prior visit was pastoral). This cross is made of fine white bone china with elaborate gilded detailing.
