Antique Royal Crown Derby 10.5 Plate Set, 14pc with 2pc Serving Dishes, c. Fabulous & RARE comprehensive 14pc 10 3/8 antique Royal Crown Derby dinner sized plate set with two matching serving dishes (16pc total), all in wonderful condition with cobalt blue flowers & foliage, gold enamel accenting & pressed edelweiss & snowflake accented rims! Nothing too frilly here but what a beautiful, elegant set and rare to find so many all together and in such wonderful shape! All have the red enamel maker stamp on the bottoms for Royal Crown Derby, England and are double marked for the retailer Mortlock’s, Oxford Street. The pattern number for the set is “RCD18″, in case you’d like to explore adding pieces in the future. The Mortlock China Company was founded in Oxford Street, London in 1746 by John Mortlock of Sawston (1698 -1758), the great, great grandfather of John George Mortlock. By 1785 John’s grandson William, (1747 – 1807) was running the business. In 1801 William assigned the business to his two sons William Mortlock (1778 – 1833) and John Mortlock (1776 – 1837) as partners, but, in 1809, two years after their father’s death, the partnership was dissolved and John carried on the business at 250 Oxford Street alone. The Oxford Street business continued under the control of John George Mortlock and subsequently his children until the company ceased trading in 1930. A wonderful set here, perfect for display and/or use! Very good to excellent condition. I see no rim chips, cracks or repairs to any of the fourteen plates, they’re as near pristine as could be hoped for. The two serving dishes are older, have a bit of age darkening to them and one piece has two small chips (shown in the images). See pictures for all measurements. A handsome pair of Royal Crown Derby candlesticks in the celebrated Old Imari 1128 pattern – the factory’s signature cobalt-blue, iron-red, and richly raised gold on fine English bone china. Tall faceted columns on scrolled square bases rise to fluted, scallop-edged sconces, every panel densely hand-decorated in the classic Imari manner. Royal Crown Derby English Bone China, pattern 1128. With date cyphers for 1986 and 1988. Maker: Royal Crown Derby, England. Pattern: Old Imari 1128. Date codes: XLIX (1986) and LI (1988). Please read – condition / alteration: At some point this pair was drilled and fitted with brass hardware for use as table lamps. There is a bored channel through the center and a brass collar in the underside of each base; the candle cups contain old filler/residue. Gilding remains bright with light high-point wear; no chips or cracks noted beyond the drilling described. Study all photos, including the base and cup close-ups – they are part of the description.

Rare Royal Crown Derby miniature bud vase. Production dated for 1904. Hand painted and decorated in burnished gold. Measures 3 1/4 / 8 cm tall. I have photographed with a US penny to demonstrate size. Pattern is bright with no sign of wear. Minor wear to the gold rim at mouth on top. Marked as shown in photo. Please ignore all white spots on all photos caused by camera flash. I do try and describe my items accurately. Please study photos to make your own determination of condition. Please remember that my items are generally vintage and not store-bought-new and some minor wear from age and use or flaws from original factory production should be expected.

ROYAL CROWN DERBY PAPERWEIGHT — CROCODILE. 6.5″ long, 2.5″ high, 4.5 deep. With Gold Stopper and RCD box. Here we have an RCD CROCODILE paperweight. The bright white mound that he is sitting on and his gold and rust trim make him quite a stand-out. I feel sure that all the colors are just as vibrant as the day he was made. The gold stopper indicates first quality, and the RCD box is also included. Condition: The CROCODILE is without flaws–no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no fading. He is Like New! It’s time to continue culling more of my figurines. In the weeks and probably months to come you will more of my RCD Paperweights, several of my small Herend fishnet animals, a couple Royal Copenhagen people and vases, perhaps a few more Shanghai baskets, and anything else I can bear to part with at the moment.
