RARE ROYAL CROWN DERBY BLUE AVES OVERSIZE CUP & SAUCER “MOTHER” MADE IN ENGLAND. Rare cup and saucer set by ROYAL CROWN DERBY in the pattern BLUE AVES. White base with blue designs of birds and plants. Cup has a height of 3 1/8” and a diameter of 3 3/4” making it significantly larger than regular teacups in this pattern. This size is appropriate for robust morning American coffee instead of dainty British afternoon tea, but still made of the finest English bone china. Saucer has a diameter of approximately 6” and a depth of 1”. Both pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, flakes, or other defects. This cup is about 2 7/8 tall and 4 5/8 across the rim. The saucer is about 6 3/8 across. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, flakes, or other defects except for possibly a utensil mark or two. Almost all of my items come from estate sales and are not new.
