I used a loop to be certain, whereas it’s on the glaze only. This Royal Crown Derby Pearly King & Queen Cat figures are marked appropriately as shown. Britain’s Union Jack colors, indeed. Antique 1800 – 30’s Royal Crown Derby Oval Serving Platter Imari Pattern. For your consideration is an outstanding large oval serving platter / oval bowl. It features the distinctive Imari King pattern, characterized by a Japanese-inspired design with. Hand-painted blue and rust floral motifs and gold accents. Iron red, cobalt blue, and 22 karat gold. Stylized floral motifs, scroll bands, and delicate gold trim. There are blue foliate decorations on the sides as well. Clearly marked on the bottom with the Derby Crown over D, indicating a date around 1800’s-1830’s. It bears also a red handwritten number 24 and a blue underglaze character. The Imari pattern, also known as Traditional Imari (pattern 2451), was inspired by traditional Japanese porcelain patterns sourced from the port of Imari on the island of Kyushu, Japan. Measurements: Approximately 13.5″ x 10″ x 2. It weighs 1 lb. Condition: Very Good overall. Slight surface wear to the gold in the center. Local Pickups Are Welcome! This is a Royal Crown Derby limited edition footed cup/vase from 1939, featuring 2 24K gold spread winged eagle handles and commemorating HM King George VI’s and HM Queen Elizabeth’s, “the first visit of British reigning sovereigns to these United States”. It is signed, dated 1939, and produced in the United Kingdom. Plummer and Company Limited of New York city. The cup/vase is part of a series of 3000, with this specific piece being number 171. The design is themed around British Royalty pictures on the front and the USA Eagle crest on the reverse. This is a collectible item for fans of historical memorabilia. Size: It is 4 3/4″ high and 6″ wide from beak to beak. The condition is immaculate and perfect except for a tiny chip on the end of the beak of one of the eagles.
