The figure measures approximately 17 cm high and 9 cm diameter at the base. It is in very good condition with normal wear consistent with age. No apparent cracks, chips or repairs. Beautiful and rare Royal Crown Derby Summer figurine made in England in 1966 (XXIX) offered for sale in used condition, missing blade of his scythe. This vintage figure features a young boy well dressed (aristocratic) resting against a tree, his jacket thrown over a beehive. With scythe in hand with a sheath of wheat in midday sun he stops to remember his days when all he had to do was to play with his friends. The attention to detail is remarkable, his loose fitting shirt hand painted with gold trim, blue flowers with olive colored leaves. He wears purple shorts decorated with darker purple lines. The scythe is well modeled with wooden handle but is missing the blade (had always intended to get this repaired). This young boy measures approximately 9″ tall by 5″ wide and deep. See my other listing for a similarly figure – only made in 1977, with light green striped shorts and top with pink flowers!

Offered for sale is this antique circa 1770 Derby biscuit porcelain figurine of Summer (or a gardener). It’s nicely detailed. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. The figure is approximately 5.5 inches tall. It is in overall good condition considering its age. There are some losses to the applied wheat and her head has been restuck (but it’s not obvious).
