Stunning and rare antique Crown Derby (pre royal warrant) comport/cake stand with a central hand painted goldfinch among flowers and foliage. The image is framed by a wide pink border with a repeating floral design with raised gold dot detailing. The underside of the plate is similarly decorated and sits upon a three footed classical base. This piece was made between 1877 – 1890 and has the backstamp to the bottom, the pattern number 209, along with an impressed year mark for 1888 (I think – its hard to make out). Remarkable condition, no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration and gilding still excellent. Dating back to the early 1900’s, offered here is a Royal Crown Derby Imari Comport Pedestal Dish, year date of 1912 as reflected by backstamp and cyper code. The Imari pattern is a very regal one boasting a very bold cobalt blue, copper orange and lavish thick gold overlay on a crisp white backdrop decorated in a circular floral design from base to top of dish, with a pointed tip scalloped trim. Measures approximately 3″ high with a 5″ wide diameter and is in beautiful, well-cared for condition. A wonderful and rarer find and a perfect addition to complete a Royal Crown Derby Imari collection by!
