Antique Royal Crown Derby Derby Sprig Oval Serving Platter. This beautifully hand-decorated piece features delicate scattered green sprig motifs, jeweled rose medallions accented with cobalt enamel dots, vibrant green banding, and elegant gilt detailing throughout. The underside bears an early puce Royal Crown Derby mark, and the decorative scheme relates closely to the celebrated Derby Sprig design lineage, including patterns associated with Pinxton Roses, Bourbon Sprig, and Angoulême motifs. A wonderful addition for collectors of early English porcelain, Georgian tablewares, or Royal Crown Derby. Very good antique condition consistent with age and use. A Wonderful Early Derby Cabinet Plate. Exotic Multicoloured Birds perched on branches with a peaceful scenic background, exquisitely hand painted by Richard Dodson. Rich Purples, Pinks & greens which really make the birds pop out. Quite comical appearance to the birds. Hand painted ornate Gilded edge with Flourishes, leaves & scrolls. Fairly neat backstamp in gold of the crown, cross & D. Small label on the back which says Richard Dodson ex Jarvis Collection. No chips or cracks. Has glaze crazing which has stained in several areas, this staining is visible in the recess on the front but in the right hands could be rectified. 2 Blemishes to the rim and a few faults hidden within the gilt band all from firing.
