A rare 12″ x 8.25″ Bloor period Royal Crown Derby platter in the early King’s pattern, featuring cobalt, iron red, and gilt detailing with a gadroon edge. This form is undocumented in standard references, suggesting a limited production or custom commission. Pattern : Early King’s, gadroon-style edge. Size : 12″ x 8.25″. A FINE GARNITURE OF 18TH CENTURY BOUGH POTS. Of bow fronted bombe form with leaf scroll side handles, painted with diverse summer flowers reserved upon a pale green and gilt ground. Raised on scroll feet and retaining their original pierced covers. Marked under with makers mark: Bloor Derby. The perforated inserts each with twenty holes for flowers. This is a lovely, heart-shaped Imari dish, measuring approx 10.5 in across, or 26.6 cm. It is a very rare piece from c1830s based on its unique crown mark. The dish is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There are a couple spots of yellow discoloration in the porcelain on the front face (see photos). The company was known as Derby Porcelain until 1775, when King George III granted the factory the honour of being able to incorporate a crown into its backstamp – becoming Crown Derby. In 1890, Queen Victoria awarded Crown Derby the royal warrant and the company was renamed Royal Crown Derby. Robert Bloor, a former clerk to the Duesburys, took control of the Royal Crown Derby factory in 1811 and began to build a team of fine painters. Bloor Derby is the predecessor to royal crown derby, dating this piece to between 1811 and 1846. The Royal Crown Derby is one of the oldest remaining English porcelain manufacturers. The company has produced tableware and ornamental items since c1750 and is known for its high-quality bone china. The products are known for their elaborate shapes, flamboyant colors, and intricate gilding. Imari patterns are a type of Japanese porcelain that feature intricate floral designs and are characterized by their three dominant colors: blue, dark red, and white. The pattern is often separated into panels and features exotic landscapes, trees and flowers, birds with long wings, and courtesans in kimonos. Plate features a cobalt blue and gold decorated border with a center scene of Italy. Measures 8.75 in diameter. Hand marked on back in red script, “View in Italy”, along with the round Bloor Derby mark. Plate is in very good condition. There is one small area of the rim that is rough/sandy, most likely a glaze imperfection.

Vintage Royal Crown Derby Teaset dating between 1806 and 1825. This service carries Derby marks from the factory sited on Nottingham Road, Derby. At the time of production and original decoration, patterns were not given names. However, this pattern was. Re-introduced by the Royal Crown Derby company. In about 1960 and continued in production until recently. Used by Royal Crown Derby, the pattern was given a name,’Princess’. Included in the photos are marks, for example, the teapot’s mark folllows the teapot pic. The painting is incredible and appears the teapot was never used, The sugar and creamer are also have their painting in Excellent conditon. Small signs of guild wear on tea cups, saucers and serving trays. There are multiple markings, as follows. The saucers and Sugar bowl are marked “Bloor Derby”. The Demitasse cups and saucers show wear inside and some have no marking. The remaining items are marked with a Crown over a cross and a dramatic D. The Serving plate Crown/cross/D is over #52. Inventory of Items include Teapot, Creamer, Sugar Box, 5 cups and saucers, 2 x serving plates, and a Serving Bowl.
