Rare Vintage Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Basket With Bows Flowers Turquoise Gilt Serving Piece. This rare and beautifully modeled porcelain basket is a striking example of the enduring elegance associated with Royal Crown Derby. Decorated in a rich turquoise ground with ornate bows, floral detailing, and lavish gilt edges, the piece reflects the brand’s long tradition of producing decorative yet functional serving wares inspired by historic English design. While the form evokes earlier Victorian influences, the factory mark indicates later 20th-century production-consistent with Royal Crown Derby’s practice of continuing classic patterns and silhouettes to coordinate with established services. The result is a refined, high-quality vintage piece that feels both timeless and elevated. Shows the 1897 mark that was used until 1921 according to the pottery histories-Pattern appears to be #4998. Royal Crown Derby is one of England’s most prestigious porcelain houses, with origins dating to the mid-18th century in Derby, England. The firm was granted permission to incorporate a crown into its backstamp in the 18th century, signaling early royal patronage, and in 1890 Queen Victoria formally bestowed the title Royal. Renowned for fine modeling, hand-applied decoration, and generous gilding, Royal Crown Derby remains synonymous with luxury English porcelain and heirloom-quality tableware. Approximately 8.75 wide × 6 deep × 8 high. Very good vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear. Gilding remains bright and well-preserved. No cracks, chips, or repairs noted. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description. There is a crazing mark at the bottom of the makers mark. Style on a marble or mahogany sideboard with antique silver and linen, or use as a decorative serving basket when entertaining. The jewel-tone turquoise and reflective gilt make it especially striking under candlelight or in formal dining settings. ? Please Note: Jewelry cases, props, and styling accessories shown in photographs are not included unless explicitly stated. We photograph with antique and vintage props to help you envision the piece in an elevated setting. We proudly reuse and reclaim packaging materials whenever possible while still packing your order with great care. Questions are always welcome-please message us anytime.
