These early Derby pieces are painted in an Imari color pallet. The top rim has classical faces and the dish is raised on four lions feet. These pieces measure 4 inches tall and is 5 3/4 inches in diameter. The both pieces are decorated with gilded accents. The lid of the piece is missing. The underside is marked with a very faint Derby hallmark. These pieces are in Excellent condition. There is some slight discoloration on the inside of the bowls. Here we have two early Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Works, Imari style. Kings or Japan pattern plates. The underside has been decorated in a simple blue floral design in the Chinese design. They measure 24.5cm (9.5) approximately in diameter and are marked on the base. The red mark dates the plates to between 1805 and 1825. The mark on the back of the plates, which is a Crown over crossed Batons and the letter “D”, was used in the red version c1805 and continued until the early 1820s. The early versions are drawn very neatly and gradually the mark was more carelessly drawn which helps to date the plates. They both have a couple of chips on the back edge of the plates. Otherwise they are in really good condition. Please see the photos for the finer details.
