Antique 1800 – 30’s Royal Crown Derby Oval Serving Platter Imari Pattern. For your consideration is an outstanding large oval serving platter / oval bowl. It features the distinctive Imari King pattern, characterized by a Japanese-inspired design with. Hand-painted blue and rust floral motifs and gold accents. Iron red, cobalt blue, and 22 karat gold. Stylized floral motifs, scroll bands, and delicate gold trim. There are blue foliate decorations on the sides as well. Clearly marked on the bottom with the Derby Crown over D, indicating a date around 1800’s-1830’s. It bears also a red handwritten number 24 and a blue underglaze character. The Imari pattern, also known as Traditional Imari (pattern 2451), was inspired by traditional Japanese porcelain patterns sourced from the port of Imari on the island of Kyushu, Japan. Measurements: Approximately 13.5″ x 10″ x 2. It weighs 1 lb. Condition: Very Good overall. Slight surface wear to the gold in the center. Local Pickups Are Welcome!
