Vintage “IMARI” ROYAL CROWN DERBY 22 PIECE TEASET Set consists of 6 x Tea Cups, 6 x Saucers, 6 x Tea Plates 1 x Milk Jug, 1 x Slop Bowl, 1 x Cake Plate, 1 x Savoury Plate No Chips, Cracks, Crazing. Minor colour spot underglaze on cake plate. Please see photos as they do form the main of the description. The back stamp mark is the Crown on all pieces and each flat piece has an impressed mark of the crown and I have tried to photograph this to the best of my (amateur) skills. It would appear that according to demand and supply of the popular pattern of the day, sets were potted and an impressed mark was included, the items stored away sometimes for years before they were actually decorated and used sporadically during the period under question, being the early 1920s. Impressed marks were on the flatware (plates/saucers) and once the set was ready for production, each stamped with the crown, often on top of the impressed mark which was already in place. The impressed stamp being under glaze is not easy to read so a definite date cannot be given with certainty. Information gleaned from various research engines but as always I stand corrected on all points. Packaging is key and every care has been taken each cup triple packed and the entire set is double boxed.
