Superb Vintage 1920s ROYAL CROWN DERBY Tea Set Cobalt Blue, Floral & Gold. Stunning vintage Royal Crown Derby finest English bone china tea set, beautifully decorated with handpainted floral panels againt a cobalt blue background with handpainted gilt decoration, raised and beaded in places. It comprises cake or bread and butter plate, six tea cups, six saucers and six side plates. The set looks as though it has been used perhaps only occasionally and has been well cared for down the years, so is in superb condition, free from chips, cracks, crazing and repairs. As can be seen from the images, there are one or two tiny blemishes to the interior of the cups, nothing serious but mentioned for the sake of accuracy. The gilt trim around the edges and on the handles is in particularly good condition, any apparent rubbing seen in the photographs is caused by light reflecting off the gilt. The individual pieces are backstamped with the Derby mark and the year mark for 1926. There is also a hand painted pattern number, 8305. The cups measure approximately 2ins tall x 3 and 3/8ins diameter. A beautiful set from a renowned high quality maker of English bone china. Please remember that vintage china often has small imperfections such as tiny raised bumps below the glaze, small flecks of stray coloured glaze, tiny nibbles, small imperfections or blemishes to the glaze, evidence of use and so on.
