Rare Mid-Century Royal Crown Derby China Service for 12 59 Pieces Exc. Rare Mid-Century Royal Crown Derby China Service for 12, circa 1940 – 1960. Up for your consideration is a fine vintage set of Royal Crown Derby china for 12, with missing teacups (discussed below). The pattern is Rougemont, and it was made mid-century, c. The design is a traditional rust color over white porcelain. There are 12 dinner plates that measure 10.75 in diameter. They are in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, or damage. There is some very light wear to the decoration on 9 of the plates, and slightly more to the other 3. They appear to be used once or twice, but there are no distracting utensil marks. Overall, very nice plates. There are 14 saucers, 2 which show some minor wear, and 3 in which the rust decoration is a somewhat brighter orange. There is no chips, cracks, or crazing. They measure 5.25″ in diameter, and 1″ high. There are 12 large salad plates, measuring 8.5 in diameter. There is some very light wear to the decoration on 2 of the plates. There are 12 bread & butter plates, measuring 6.25 in diameter. They appear to be have never been used. The tea cups are ultra thin, and although they were not likely used much like the rest of the set. Nine of the cups are perfect, however, it appears that three were on display and affected by sunlight. One was cracked in half and is no longer present. The other two have developed brown stains in the interior bottom, where the walls of the cup meet the base, and one of these cups has an additional hairline crack, rendering the cup unusable. Basically, you have 10 fine usable cups. The gilt on all pieces remains bright, and shows virtually no wear. This quote is for the Continental U. International Buyers Please Note.
